The V2 sport a new 14.2-megapixel CX-format super high-speed CMOS sensor achieves a wide range of ISO sensitivity from 160 to 6400, delivers detailed photos and full HD movies, even in low light situations. This CX-format CMOS sensor offers the ideal balance between system size, speed, light sensitivity, resolution, and depth-of-field, enabling high-quality still image and movie recording without sacrificing portability.
Nikon 1 V2 is equipped with a EXPEED 3A dual-image processor specifically designed to produce photos and HD video with stunning clarity and color. The EXPEED 3A also lets you take advantage of functions unique to V2 such as high-speed burst shooting, Smart Photo Selector, and simultaneous shooting of stills and movies.
The V2 camera's advanced hybrid AF system that boasts fast phase-detection AF for high-speed movement, and contrast-detect AF for capturing subtle details even in low light. The sensor instantly switches between the 73 phase-detection focus areas and the 135 contrast-detect focus areas depending on the scene, ensuring superb images and movies in a wide range of environments.
The V2 can continuous shooting up to 15 fps while maintaining full AF tracking that allows the capturing of fast moving subjects. Or focus on one spot and capture full-resolution images at up to 60 fps.
The Nikon 1 V2 features a new Slow View mode, when you press down the shutter-release button halfway, the camera rapidly captures a series of 40 frames and simultaneously displays them in slow motion on the LCD screen so you can select the exact moment you want to keep.
The Smart Photo Selector quickly captures up to 20 full-resolution images before and after you’ve fully pressed the shutter button, you can choose the best five for you.
Besides taking breathtaking stills, the V2 can also record incredible videos in 1080p full HD. The Slow motion movies at both 400 fps and 1200 fps can also be captured, plus full manual exposure controls are accessible while in Advance Movie Mode.
The Shoot in movie mode also allows you to capture still images with an aspect ratio of 3:2 by pressing the shutter-release button while recording a movie at 16:9, without interrupting movie recording.
A Motion Snapshot can be saved as a four second MOV file and JPEG image file separately or it can also be saved as a 10 second movie file without a separate JPEG image file, making it easy to share with others.
Nikon 1 V2 comes equipped with a high-performance, 1440k-dot electronic viewfinder (EVF). The EVF faithfully displays the scene in front of you with minimum time lag, and is especially useful in a bright environment where an LCD monitor might normally be harder to view. The 3.0-inch 921k-dot LCD monitor with wide viewing angle enabling you to enjoy a clearer, more beautiful display of photos and movies.
Complementing its robust features, the V2 is designed with a front face crafted from magnesium alloy - material that is lightweight but strong. With the newly added grip, comfortable holding is ensured.
The mode dial on top of the camera offers quick, direct access to PSAM exposure controls, and you can directly access key settings such as ISO and white balance simply by pressing the function button. The command dial boasts a push functionality that lets you confirm selections, or changes to settings, without taking your eye away from the viewfinder.
The Live Image Control gives users the ability to see end-result images before capture by incorporating effects of various camera settings on a scene. With Live Image Control, real time adjustments to motion control, brightness control, Active D-Lighting and background focus are seen on the LCD screen or the electronic viewfinder prior to capture to help ensure the user's creative vision is fulfilled.
Connect the optional WU-1b Wireless Adapter to the V2 and transfer images directly from the camera to any smartphone or tablet. Share moments with ease, view images on a larger screen, or even use the Nikon's free app for Android or iOS and remotely control the Nikon 1 V2.
